About Me

Hello!

I teach physics at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, New Barrackpore.

Education

I did my Ph.D. in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis under the mentorship of Zohar Nussinov. Before that, I got my M.Sc. degree in Physics from I.I.T. Bombay and B.Sc. Physics Honours degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (University of Calcutta). My +2 (I.S.C.) was from St. Patrick’s Higher Secondary School, Asansol and I passed the tenth standard examination (I.C.S.E.) from St. Vincent’s High & Technical School, Asansol.

Post Doctoral Experience

As a postdoctoral fellow, I started my journey at the Indian Institute of Science. There, I worked in Chandan Dasgupta’s group. From there, I moved to the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences. In ICTS, I worked with Subhro Bhattacharjee and Abhishek Dhar. My final days as a postdoc were spent at the Nanyang Technological University in Ran Ni’s group. During this entire time, I worked on problems in statistical physics and condensed matter physics.

Research and Publications

My areas of research are Statistical Physics and Condensed Matter Physics (Theoretical and Computational). Some of the topics that interest me are supercooled liquids and glasses, disordered systems in general, chaos and its spread, systems with competing interactions, changing length and time scales, bounds on physical quantities, and related ideas.

A list of my publications can be found on Google Scholar. Most of my pre-prints are available on arXiv.
